Carles Cortadas Guasch from B Barcelona Consulting led a lunch-time seminar where he explained the innovative aspects of the development of district cooling in Barcelona. More in detail, he described the case of Marina District Cooling, which first deployment stage has been already finished was described. For this case, an outstanding project for Energy efficiency is being run by Dalkia and Enagas, in order to introduce sustainable strategies for the chilled water production. More specifically, the project seeks the usage of 30MW of residual cooling from re-gasification of LNG produced in Barcelona’s Enagas plant, as a low environmental impact source of cooling for the new Marina’s quarter.
